WTF?
Virgo
Saturday, Apr. 30
Complete and total freedom, or settling down permanently, romantically, complete with a white picket fence? What a decision! Better make it soon, though. That ticking is the sound of your patience wearing thin.

Times like these are when my title rings true.
We can't help how we feel I suppose. I once read something along the lines of "Never give up on something you can't go a single day without thinking about".
"You'd look at me then smile then we'd kiss for awhile
run my hands through your hair though you no longer care
I love you in silence and the purest of thoughts
I love you completely despite all your faults" ~LC

On a lighter note...
Last friday was SO much fun at work. We had TAKS all week so we sat around all day in my class and played guitar. It's probably the only time I'll ever be paid in my life for playing guitar ;)

You bring my thoughts to Crescendo...
I'm in love. With a red Z-28. Seriously though, I don't take many people's opinion at a great worth, but I do with all of my heart think Wade is one of the most fantastically amazing musicians I've ever seen. I respect his opinions on music whole-heartedly. I had given him some stuff I'd written that I figured in some way or another might be destined for greatness, but that I just didn't have what it took to get it there. Well I finally asked him to let me hear what he'd been working on and I LOVED IT. It almost made me cry to hear it. He took something that came from my soul and made it into something even more beautiful. He's working on another one of my songs now, I think his exact words were "bitch, you can fucking write". LOL I'm most definitely taking that as a compliment. I adore that boy and want nothing more than to see him share his gift with the world.

Borrowed from
ReneeIf you're single and you're not having the greatest fun of your life,
it's high time to reassess your priorities. It may be hard to see it, but these
are the carefree spring days in the seasons of your life! Enjoy them. Be your
own person. Be happy. Be confident. If you've heard it once, you've heard it a
thousand times: nothing attracts a man like confidence. And if that doesn't
work, don't be afraid to chase him down like a greased pig at the county fair.
It's long past the time when it wasn't acceptable for a woman to make the first
move, after all. And make sure he knows your attention is precious: he'd better
use it or lose it. If that doesn't work, he's just probably one of those slow
types, bless his heart, and you're better off without him...

My wonderful dog Butterbean killed a possum last night. I'm torn between mother's pride and sadness. It was a baby, and even though possums are ugly critters, babies are cute (in a so ugly its cute sorta way).

In the essence of "censorship," hipocracy, and honesty...
May I just point out that was the pot calling the kettle black if I've ever heard it in my 24 years of partaking in all this wonderful life has to offer. I won't say who I'm talking about because I'm terribly particular about choosing my battles. When the opponent isn't worthy I refuse to engage anyway.

**After being interviewed by the school administration, the eager teaching prospect said, *** **"Let me see if I've got this right. You want me to go into that room with all those kids, and fill their every waking moment with a love for learning. And I'm supposed to instill a sense of pride in their ethnicity, modify their disruptive behavior, observe them for signs of abuse and even censor their t-shirt messages and dress habits. You want me to wage a war on drugs and sexually transmitted diseases, check their backpacks for weapons of mass destruction, and raise their self esteem.. You want me to teach them patriotism, good citizenship, sportsmanship, fair play, how to register to vote, how to balance a checkbook, and how to apply for a job. I am to check their heads for lice, maintain a safe environment, recognize signs of anti-social behavior, offer advice, write letters of recommendation for student employment and scholarships, encourage respect for the cultural diversity of others, and oh, make sure that I give the girls in my class fifty percent of my attention! My contract requires me to work on my own time after school, evenings and weekends grading papers. Also, I must spend my summer vacation, at my own expense, working toward advance certification and a Masters degree. And on my own time you want me to attend committee and faculty meetings, PTA meetings, and participate in staff development training. I am to be a paragon of virtue, larger than life, such that my very presence will awe my students into being obedient and respectful of authority. You want me to incorporate technology into the learning experience, monitor web sites, and relate personally with each student. That includes deciding who might be potentially dangerous and/or liable to commit a crime in school. I am to make sure all students pass the mandatory state exams, even! those who! don't come to school regularly or complete any of their assignments. Plus, I am to make sure that all of the students with handicaps get an equal education regardless of the extent of their mental or physical handicap. And I am to communicate regularly with the parents by letter, telephone, newsletter and report card. All of this I am to do with just a piece of chalk, a computer, a few books, a bulletin board, a big smile AND on a starting salary that qualifies my family for food stamps! ** **You want me to do all of this and yet you expect me...... ** **_NOT TO PRAY?_***

Reasons I love my family...
Due to inherit a fortune when his sickly, widower father died, Robert decided he needed a woman to enjoy it with. So he went to a singles bar and he searched until he spotted a woman whose beauty took his breath away. "Right now, I'm just an ordinary man," he said, walking up to her,"but within a month or two, my father will pass and I'll inherit over 30 million dollars." The woman went home with Robert, and four days later she became his stepmother.
Men will never learn
Thanks Jen! You ROCK!

Ain't that just like life...
To come full circle everytime? You can't fight the inevitable, but you sure can change the meantime. AMY once told me something along the lines of "Lacy, right now is just the meantime. The time between great things happening in your life." Well I've got a message for the meantime, maybe it sucked the life out of me for those 6 long months that 'he who shall remain unnamed' wasn't around, but right now I'm making the meantime "My Bitch". I don't know if it was with the passing of my ULTRA HARD exit exams, the reuniting with old friends, Exercising, or just the return of my wonder for life, but everyday is a blessing (even when you have to pay what pissy money you got back from your income tax return in to the state of Louisiana). Maybe it was finding out that you really were incredible. Sometimes we've gotta hit those lows in life to rediscover how amazing life actually is.
I've spent the last couple of days thinking of my accomplishments. I posted on
Dayton-Online a few days back. Its a new chat forum for Dayton Alum so we can keep tabs on one another. I never really sat down before that day and thought of what I've done with my life until I had to sum it up in just a few words. It went like this...
"My years after high school were pretty much a blur of beer, music, and general debauchery. I'm currently employed as a science teacher at Tarkington ISD. I graduated from Lamar in December 04 with an Earth Science degree. I worked offshore for a short time and now I'm here teaching hormonal high schoolers how to balance equations. That's pretty much it in a nutshell."/em>
After I wrote that and then read Amy's long post of achievements, it occurred to me that my last 5 years have been SO much more than that. They've been nothing less than incredible. I'm quite an accomplished person and forgot that in the last year. I will always remember that Mrs. Herndon once told me an Accomplished and well rounded individual knows a little bit of something about everything. I now live my life with that in mind each and everyday.
On that note, I now remove myself from my soapbox till another time.

Daily Horoscope for Virgo - 04/10/2005It takes quite a bit to get you really angry -- but right around now, you're plenty mad. It's the person you care most about that you're probably angry with, and they're probably feeling just as frustrated. What to do? Well, you know what they say about absence making the heart grow fonder? It also makes it grow more forgiving. Put some distance -- and some time -- between you two. Then you'll solve this in your usual loving way. How so very interesting and fitting...

My Closet Catastrophe...Saturday morning I had the perfect plan to spend the day working with my Mother at our precious little resale shop in Liberty. I had wanted to take some belt buckles over and try to sell them. However, as God has been really good pushing me into getting my shit together of late, he pulled a GOOD one Saturday morning. As I was walking into the hell that is my room I decided I might put up the clothes in the basket I had just tripped over. So I grabbed a couple of empty coat hangers out of my closet. This is where the day really starts. As I ever so gently pull the hangers from the rod, the rod comes crashing down on top of my other rack which in turn causes a mini chain reaction and crashes down itself. Now for those of you who don't know, I am a self admitted clothes-whore. So I don't take it lightly when I see MOUNDS of clothes in disarray in the floor of my closet. Therefore, I spent the rest of my weekend rebuilding my closet. I'm not finished put it all back together because I'm 'spring cleaning', but it's going to be a beautiful thing, I can feel it.
