OH Rrrrramon!!!!!!!!!!!!
Never in all my years of going to Joe's Crab Shack have I encountered a waiter like Rrrrrramon before. This guy had it going on, right down to the "sexy" lean he had going on at our table. From checking Jamie's oil ;) to dancing the Macarena, this guy was non stop entertainment. So you can imagine our distress when a different waiter brought us our food. "Where is Rrramon? " I exclaimed. Poor little guy he just laughed and gave us our food. Then I'm pretty sure the little shit went and told Rrrrramon we were asking for him, because the next thing we know, there he is doing "tha lean." As he inquires about our hometow, we learn he is from Spain and he lived in Crosby when he first moved to America. It always amazes me that foreigners can find hole in the wall towns like Dayton, Crosby, or hmmm... Nacogdoches. Alright I'm off to the hospital and then to the bead show. woohoo

All my loyal fans, I'll be back soon, just have patience. Between my first round of tests, getting home from the hospital at midnight, and worrying about my Keri girl, I've just been derelict in my duties. Lets put it this way, I bought a badass new guitar on sunday, and I've only had it out of the case 2 times this week.

DJ Lacy in tha house spinning on the ones and twos on this stormy afternoon, taking requests and dedications. But first I have a few dedications of my own...
This one goes out to YOU and ME Amy Girl
The Divinyls! So the next time you're feeling stressed, down, or just plain crazy, think of us and the good old 80s!!!

I love myself
I want you to love me
When I'm feelin' down
I want you above me
I search myself
I want you to find me
I forget myself
I want you to remind me

Chorus:
I don't want anybody else
When I think about you
I touch myself
I don't want anybody else
Oh no, oh no, oh no

You're the one who makes me come running
You're the sun who makes me shine
When you're around I'm always laughing
I want to make you mine

I close my eyes
And see you before me
Think I would die
If you were to ignore me
A fool could see
Just how much I adore you
I get down on my knees
I'd do anything for you

Chorus

I love myself
I want you to love me
When I'm feelin' down
I want you above me
I search myself
I want you to find me
I forget myself
I want you to remind me

Chorus

I want you
I don't want anybody else
And when I think about you
I touch myself
Ooh, oooh, oooooh, aaaaaah

Ok how in the world did we ever end up getting so enthused with that song? I was just thinking about how we rock out to it all the time, but why?

Court, darling, I'm afraid that your first weekend home might be filled with a little drama. It has been brought to my attention recently that a certain "friend" of mine has grossly misinformed half of Dayton about our former "relationship." And since It is my responsibility to be the best friend of the owner of the party Mecca of D-town, I feel that I need to take care of this situation Saturday night at our little welcome back " sleep where you fall fiesta. " It's gonna be a straight Tequilla night, and I'm in no mood to take shit. All these little skank ass bitches in Dayton are about to experience the true wrath of the L-Dawg.
Where my girls at?

Jaime!!! It was GREAT to hear from you last night! Seems to me that I need to plan on another trip to the valley this christmas to do a little 4 wheel drivin. ;) My antennae is no more! It stayed bent over like that for a while, then one day it just flew off while I was driving down the road, the base is still there though. I'm ordering a new one. We'll really put her to the test this time around, I've got confidence that she can rise to the occasion. I want to go back to Mexico shopping too.

Urgent:This just in from the C to the double O Pea ER estate...
Attention ALL agents: It has come to my attention that the Mission Status of Operation BIG ONE: INCOMPLETE. This is unacceptable agents! I will accept NO excuses.
I have evaluated the current status of signs left in the area. My reconnaissance mission resulted in 3 unchecked signs.
Location #1: HWY 146, Hull Daisetta
In plain view of traffic
Up off the ground
Location #2: FM 1409, Dayton
Entrance to Major subdivision
In plain view of traffic
On the ground
Location #3: Hwy 90, Liberty
Intersection of Hwy 90 and Main Street
In plain view of traffic, God and everybody
Up off the ground
Proposal: To carry out original mission and obtain original objectives.
It had come to my attention that Pat Green did not win the Liberty County Treasurer Election, therefore, said signs are not in use and are in actuallity an eyesore to the community.
Our department has suffered from heavy cutbacks, therefore supplies for disguise will be limited agents. You will have to rely on your skills to fit in with the "locals." Some of the "locals" may attempt to throw you off by using intelligent linguistics and making rational decisions. I warn you now agents DO NOT BE FOOLED. These people are no different from the other "locals" you will surely encounter. I assure you that their family trees do not branch. Despite the refined accent, I'm quite confident a "Y'all" will slip out and blow their cover.
If we take Option 2, we will surely need to obtain orange Liberty County Correctional Facility suits. The most efficient way to obtain these is to befriend one of the "locals." If they do not have a suit, surely one of their relatives do.
Option 1: Election cleanup crew
this disguise will allow us to take down the signs as a "public service"
Option 2: Community service workers
also will allow us to take down signs as a "public service"
Transportation: White Thunder is currently in working order and would fit nicely for Option 1. I fear the Baby Beast would be a dead give away for our alterior motives given the large Pat Green sticker on the back. Disguised as an election clean up crew, we should be able to obtain numerous signs around town. However, If we decide on Location # 1, or #3, we will need a Truck. The signs being up off the ground require a truck bed to stand on for proper attainment.
If we take Option #2, as community service workers, we would need to arrive in some form of county transportation. I do believe that one of the vehicles used for my alternate employment would suffice. Though they are not county property, one is a Truck and is former TXDOT property.
NOTE: I am awaiting your responses agents and am confident that you won't let me down the second time.
Agent C-Funk, I am aware that your estimated time of arrival is approximately 16:30 hours Saturday. Therefore You will be given time to review all reconnaissance work and evaluate the situation for yourself upon your arrival.
Agent J (on the down) Low, a business meeting will be required this Friday at noon if resources permit. We shall discuss further planning at that time. It might require another "meeting," possibly next weekend, such as a trip to the bead store so that our plans will never be suspected.

VIRGO
Virgo is usually considered one of the most practical Signs of the Zodiac, but today may prove to be an exception. The Aquarius Moon is making you feel just a little bit wild, and no one (least of all you!) can predict what you'll do. Go with it. You may surprise yourself. Steer clear of your more judgmental family members or friends because their opinion of you may be radically changed. It feels odd to you to be as dramatic and tempestuous as a Leo, but if you relax, you may find that you will enjoy this new phase.

HA! this is amusing, if you look up "dramatic" in the dictionary, there will be a picture of me right next to it ;) I have been feeling a bit on the saucy side though, I was contemplating that yesterday when my "judgemental" mother was lecturing me on my "unsafe" driving habits.

VIRGO
It's an excellent day for romance, so make some exciting plans for this evening. Someone special is irresistibly attracted to you. Wear something nice, and be sure to smell good tonight. You may not want to reveal your true feelings to someone, but you are headed in the right direction. It's not necessary for you to panic or try to push things more quickly than they're already moving. Relax and just enjoy the ride. Tonight will go wonderfully for you, whatever plans you have in mind.

HA HA HA...Did I own it? Of course honey, I can't believe you even had to ask.
I was SO owning it that after I got down off the bleachers to go to the potty the first time, I don't think I was ever able to quite make it back up there. Poor planning on my part though, I'm not sure how the reasoning was working last night...top row of bleachers...many many beers...many many trips to the potty...top row of the bleachers?? nah, stand close to the potty...You've seen Cory Morrow before anyway...and Charlie Robison, hell this'll be the 5th time, so who gives a rats ass if you miss it. LOL Well maybe my reasoning wasn't as flawed as I thought. Kind of funny thing though, I remember seeing many of my friends last night, there was Russell and Daniel and Keri and Raymond, and Lynn, and then Jacque and Regan and Jennifer...but then I lost them all. :( Oh well at least I didn't lose my ride ;)

WOOHOO!!!
I'm ready to party tonight, about time I got me some more of Mr. Morrow. If I can only find something to wear. Now I've starved myself all day so that I can get a cheaper buzz, and I figure if if 1 gram of alcohol is equivalent to 7 kcal, and I've only consumed somewhere around 300 kcal today, then I should be able to consume 4-5 beers without absolutely damaging myself. However, I learned a disturbing fact from my Amy girl yesterday, alcohol calories go straight into fat, "they do not pass go, they do not collect $200." Ok, must go beautify myself, see y'all at the party!

Tuesday, September 10, 2002

First off, what a FABULOUS birthday! I want to thank all my friends and family. I got SO many phone calls today and thanks to all the Greenheads for the wishes.
MAD PROPS to Mom and Dad for the sweet ass BLING they got me. You can never go wrong with diamonds, sapphires, and 14K.

Now on a more serious note...
It is so hard for me to believe that one year ago today I was sitting in my dorm room at SFA missing my home, but looking forward to the exciting prospect of legally buying acohol for the rest of my life. One word comes to mind, Innocence. I look back on the past year, the good and the bad, the rough and the smooth, the rebirth of a nation. One year ago today I was still innocent to the hurt and the suffering and the disbelief. I was sitting in my dorm thinking to myself how sad it was that I was away from all my family and all my friends and my home on a day so important to me. Amazing how in less than 12 short hours perspectives can be shattered. My parents generation saw Vietnam and the assassination of JFK. And when you ask them, they will remember EXACTLY what they were doing and where they were when it happened. I will remember EXACTLY what I was doing and where I was when it 9-11 happened.
I was getting ready for class, about to walk out the door, more consumed with what I was going to wear to impress my lab partner than anything else in the world, when the phone rang. I figured it was my Mom so early in the morning so I ran to catch the phone before it woke my roomate. I answered it and Mom said "have you seen the news?" I remember thinking " what in the hell would I be watching the news this early in the morning for?" "No" I said, "Why?" "A plane just crashed into the Pentagon and I think one crashed into the World Trade Tower." I imediately turned on the TV to see what this was all about. I couldn't believe my eyes, and like so many others it seemed just like a scene from Independence Day. I remember watching the Tower fall before I left for class. I walked outside and it was so beautiful, so unreal that our world had change forever. Our teacher let us out, deciding it was more important that we be in front of the television at that moment. I wanted to be with my family so bad, that was the hardest week to see through, I just wanted to be home. All of my teachers that day spoke to us briefly and then told us to go pray.
I look back and think about how this has changed America. Some criticize and say that people are only patriotic because of this event, seems to me that we should just be glad that at least now they are patriotic. It's a wake-up call. I was patriotic before it happened, and even more so now. There have not been many times that I've heard the Anthem at a friday night football game and not teared up. You can't sit back and not question the magnitude of the effect this event had on our country. I will always remember that Bush said in one of his first speeches after it happened that he had wanted to pull America together again and get back to a sense of unity, and that none of his plans could have been as successful in doing this as the result of this attack had been. I think about the courage of those left behind and I don't feel pain for those who were taken. Had America not been given a reason such as this to step up and take control of the terrorism issue, then who knows what horrors would have been in our future. I see those who died as the front line of an army in this war. And who would not give his life to preserve the future of freedom?
This issue is harder for me to think about, talk about, or hear about than it was a year ago. It's as though the reality of it has truly set in. We woke the morning of September 11, 2001, to frightful scenes and horrible stories. We ended that day and the next 364 days with a new appreciation for every beautiful thing we hold dear to us. To have some quick glimpse of how quickly it can be taken, and how much we are hated for all our freedoms, really put it all into perspective.
No, I don't think I'll ever forget. Everytime, I smile, everytime Riley smiles, everytime I see a sunset, drive down the road, listen to the radio, watch a movie, enjoy a dinner, laugh with friends, see my family, go to a concert, drink a beer, paint my nails, read a book, talk on the phone, surf the net, AIM a friend across the world, go swimming, go fishing, go hunting, go on a cruise, buy new clothes, take a picture, everytime I do these everyday things that are so familiar, I will remember.

Monday, September 09, 2002

Well I've reached the eve of the completion of my 22nd year. I've been thinking about it alot here the past few days and I really think that Pat Green summed up my view of my life for the here and now...

Who's To Say

I don't wear my shirt tucked in
And I like a little barbecue on Sunday
Well I hang out with a rougher crowd
They drink too much and talk too loud
Don't you know that its alright with me
Yeah, and I don't go to church too much,
But I know that Jesus truly loves me
And if he were here I'd be drinking beer and
Hanging out and saving all of my friends, AMEN

Who's too say and who are you to judge me anyway
this is my road I take the corners as fast as I can go
Who's to say how I got so lucky anyway
I am my own at least until the man come and take me home

Well I got my mama's features and my daddy's fixtures
All day long I've been looking at pictures wondering
How in the hell they came up with me
Well, I'm crazy as a loon I'm howling at the moon
My baby she don't know what to do
She's wondering how in the hell she's gonna stay with me
Well, she's been to church more than Billy Graham
And she knows the bible like the back of her hand
Yeah, but she drinks gin like its going out of style
Oh, It makes me smile

Yeah who's to say who are you to judge her anyway
This whole world spins, never gonna take that chance again
Yeah, who's to say at how we got so lucky anyway
We have a home, neither one of us will ever be alone

It's a lesson of survival
To ride out every trial
It's the secret of forgiveness
Way down deep inside

Who's to say and who are you to judge me anyway
This is my road, I take the corner as fast as I can go
Yeah, who's to say at how I got so lucky anyway
I am my own at least until the angels come
Angels gonna come and take me home

It's been my favorite song off of the 3 days album since the first time I heard it.
Oh It Makes Me Smile...
Fine guys in BIG 4x4s
babies
good food
good friends
SNL
football
Jack Daniels
Jeeps with PG, CM, BE, and Bass Pro Shop stickers ;)
oh and jeeps with no antennas
good music
good beer
sharing bad days with good people
Mas Amigos...
chips and salsa with the girls after a hangover
"business meetings"
Family
making people smile

I've returned from college station with a definate need to go back and party, and probably an extra 5 pounds on my ass (thanks Amy). I seriously don't normally eat that much food in a week. However, I had a blast. I swear girl if we got anymore creative I don't know if the world could handle it. From soap to bridal bouquets, we're unstoppable. I've now begun my very own beer list. It's gonna be hard work but somebody has got to mark all those drinks off my list. Of all the fun we had, I don't know if anything will ever be able to top the "Dayton Holiday Inn" HA! Amy and I, being the ever efficient little domestic goddesses we are, went to check out wedding invitations. Well she pretty much had exactly what she wanted in mind so we were just looking to see what all was out there. Then we see it, Page 73, the most horrifying, backwoods, hobo looking invitation we've ever seen. Out of curiousity Amy opens it up to look inside. WHOA! The invitation was for a wedding at the Dayton Holiday Inn in Texas! The invitation is even accented in purple! Now I'm pretty sure that most of you know that our 3 light town doesn't have a Holiday Inn. We wanted to ask for a photocopy, but we thought better of it, just in case they might figure out we're from Dayton.I'll try to find a picture of it online, seriously it is PRICELESS!

Wow! Dixie chicks have done it again, I just love em. There new album includes talent from the likes of Radney Foster, Emmilou Harris, and Bruce Robison. Hands down it's my favorite so far, even better than the first. Between "white trash wedding" and "Godspeed" this album kicks azz!

"I Believe In Love"
(Martie Seidel, Natalie Maines and Marty Stuart)

I made a promise to myself
Locked it way deep down inside
Told my heart we'd wait it out
Swore we'd never compromise
Oh I'd rather be alone
Like I am tonight
Than settle for the kind of love
That fades before the morning light
Silence staring me in the face
And I finally heard it's voice
Seemed to softly say
That in love you have no choice
Today I got the answer
And there's a world of truth behind it
Love is out there waiting somewhere
You just have to go and find it
I believe in love, I believe in love
Love that's real, love that's strong
Love that lives on and on
Yes I believe in love
I believe in love, I believe in love
Love that's real, love that's strong
Love that lives on and on
Yes I believe in love
Yes I believe in love

Daily Horoscope for Virgo - 09/04/02
Today you feel that you will always be the bridesmaid or best man and never the bride or groom, Virgo. It's all very well to be happy for others, but you need to find something you can call your own. Stop working so hard to cover up what you lack. There are people out there for whom you're complete and perfect. Sometimes it helps to make the first move. Extend an invitation, and see where it leads. Perhaps the other person is just as hesitant as you are. One way or the other, you'll know by the end of the day.

SARA!!!! have a great first day of work tomorrow!!!
COURT!!! LMAO "drinking legend of Liberty County" honey Sundance is in Polk County ;) oh and your girl J downed a bottle of cuervo like it was water. Dustin claimed it was a "straight Tequilla Night" because apparently there were some drunken phone calls to a McGinnis and a "fat wobbly ray" LMAO!!!
MAD PROPS to my man Lamar Mitchell and my hometown Dayton Broncos for beating the dog mess out of Lamar consolidated Friday night!!!

Now for the real story......
A day in the charmed life of Lacy Renee
After a lovely Friday on the creek and a beautiful Sunday lounging at the bay, we decided to get up and go to the beach this morning. For some people it's golf, others it's football, for me, it's fishing. I LOVE it! With the low pressure building in the gulf, I just knew that today was going to be a good one. We got to the beach and right off the bat I caught a croker, and a nice drum. I didn't catch too much for a while, mostly I just fed the hardheads. Well I look up and of course, my father is hauling in one huge drum after another. After slinging my bait off a few times and getting hung up in the mud on the bottom, I finally get a little pissy and sit down in my chair. DAMN! I'm hung up again, but wait, when I try to pull the line loose, it begins to swim away! I start reeling it in and I realize this fish is BIG, way bigger than my 25lb test for sure. I couldn't see it at first, but Dad was instructing me on how to handle the fish. I had already changed clothes and was totally dry, but I was so excited as I was easing it down the shore that I managed to soak myself again. Then it swirled, just as suspected it was a very nice red, at least 30 inches. I tried to wear it out, I had it almost up on the shore I could see the whole fish right in front of me when !@#!@$ the line snapped!!! I wanted to cry, seriously. I could have jumped on the stupid thing it was so close to me, but I had witnesses, Mom, Dad, and Jamie all saw it, it really happened. Oh well, He'll be there for me another day.
