It is sorta ridiculous that I only post on this thing a few months out of the year. I've practically forgotten how to write in it. I should post more, it's not that I have nothing to say it is that I have no time to say it.
I got the ExxonMobil job!!!!!
http://www.exxonmobil.com/Corporate/careers_newhire.aspx
Badass, over twice my teaching salary, new Durango for me!!! I'm really excited and blessed. I've been asked to be a guest on Lamar's advisory board next month which is ironic since they never wanted to hear my opinion before and now they are asking for it ( they want money ). But, either way it will be fun and a day off. I'm still sort of in shock about the job, I've been shopping some but I still don't know what my dress code will be. It's an hour drive, but its one of those jobs that I seriously could have only dreamed about. When I interviewed the second time I felt really confident, but it had been 10 months so I was getting worried. I think my persistance paid off in the end. I start March 4th and the butterflies are beginning. I took my drug test at the Baytown facility and I think if we put Exxon in charge of national security we'll never have another problem. It was like pentagon level security clearance just to get into the visitors center.
Other than that excitement, life has been chill. We've both had our round of the flu a few weeks ago and now that is out of the way I'm pretty sure I have acute bronchitis, because I'm the only one with a cough that continues to prevent me from BREATHING! We went to the lake last weekend for the first time since deer season. We took my precious Kash with us which turned out great. I'd love to keep him in my back pocket forever! Since he's moved back I sleep easier not worrying about that boy. Brian always tells me we are going to have a boy first and I tell him God wouldn't do that to me, haha. When I look at Kash I know that if he did, he's send me someone just like him. It's funny how you relate to people. I think that a soulmate comes in many different forms, not necessarily a significant other. I would say that Kash must be one of mine, or at least part of my reason for being here.
More next month!
